96-year-old actor Dick Dyke is still going strong, and he was seen smiling as he left a restaurant in Malibu, California, earlier this month. Dyke, best known for his role in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, is known for his contagious enthusiasm and love of making others smile.
Later that day, Dyke was seen running errands, including buying self-tanning spray from a local store. He also took the time to express his gratitude for being alive. Dyke’s career began in the 1940s, and he is considered a distinguished figure in the industry.
The video from Valentine’s Day earlier this year, however, is what is currently generating conversation.
Arlene Silver and Van Dyke are seen dancing in the video to the Doris Day song Everybody Loves a Lover from 1958. The three-minute duet is introduced by Arlene looking in the mirror. The musician and producer approach her famous spouse, seated in a floral chair and polishing his nails.
The actor playing Mary Poppins joins his partner on stage after singing a few verses. They proceed to dance the two-step and other dance movements in perfect unison. At nearly 90 years old, it’s impressive that Dick Van Dyke still works out three times a week.
A video of the actor dancing went viral recently, proving that he’s still got moves. In an interview with Closer Weekly a few years ago, Van Dyke attributed his longevity to his active lifestyle.
Van Dyke also thanked his girlfriend, Silver, for helping him stay young.
“I occasionally forget that we have such a significant 46 age difference. And we worked hard at it “added Van Dyke.
