ABC Declines to Renew Whoopi Goldberg’s Contract: “It’s Time to Move On”

ABC made the bold decision to not re-new Whoopi Goldberg’s contract and terminate her lead role on a beloved show, costing her an estimated $36 million per year in salary and endorsements.

Surprisingly however, ABC did not fire or even cancel Goldberg; rather they opted for this alternative measure as an attempt of resolution to their ongoing issue with her.

Programming Director Joe Barron suggested that the time had come to move on, noting, “although she was successful at one point, lately her anger has been too much.”

According to Barron, countless complaints have poured in from viewers who identify her as hateful, divisive and un-American.

He added thoughtfully,” people may not be able to state why they feel this way but it is their right to think so.”

Art Tubolls, Goldberg’s manager, expressed that the discussions between ABC and Whoopi are far from being finalized, with a new contract likely to be extended into 2029.

“Whoopi is The Show!” he declared fervently. “Joy Behar simply can’t match her star power; there’s no one who could ever take her place.”

According to Barron, Behar is not the only substitute; due to saving a massive amount of money, two new hosts could be acquired.

“I would wager that Alyssa Milano and Kathy Griffin could fill those spots for half of what we’re currently paying,” he snickered.

Unfortunately, our request for an opinion from Milano went unacknowledged yet again.
