Days after the comedian criticized Will Smith and Jada on his live Netflix special Selective Outrage, sources close to Jada Pinkett Smith are claiming that Chris Rock is “obsessed” with her.
This comes after Rock, 58, was criticized by fans for choosing Baltimore, Pinkett Smith’s hometown, to film his special, in which he talked about Smith’s Oscar slap, Jada’s “entanglement” with August Alsina, and many other things.
According to a 51-year-old Pinkett Smith associate, Rock has been “obsessed” with Jada for decades, according to People, and she has nothing to do with the drama.
Except for being heckled, Jada has not participated in anything at all. According to the source, Chris has been obsessed with her for nearly 30 years.
“Take a look at the location he chose for his Netflix special. Baltimore is where she was born. ‘Obsessed,’ added the source.
Rock made fun of Jada for asking him not to host the Oscars after he was overlooked for his performance in 2015’s Concussion in a segment of the special.
His wife advised me to stop attending the Oscars years ago. Because her man was not nominated for the Concussion award, I shouldn’t be hosting. Rock stated in the course of the special that “and then he gives me a f***ing concussion.”
This is refuted by a Jada-related source, who asserts, “She never asked Chris to not host ever.” At the time, she made it clear in a Facebook post that Chris is the ideal host for the Oscars.’
“Back in 2016 she helped start a movement with the Academy Awards by asking why there aren’t as many Black members, and Chris took it to this?” added the source.
Additionally, Rock stated in the special that “I made a few jokes about her.” Who really cares? It is as it is: Rock stated, “She starts it, I finish it.”
“That’s exactly what happened. This b*tch is in the clear. She initiated this nonsense. No one was pickin’ on her,’ Rock said in the hour and a half unique.
“Shocked at how many times Chris used the word b*tch in referring to Jada,” the source claimed of Jada.
The source continued, “Right now Jada is focused on her book that will come out this year.” Jada wants to move on from the drama.
